My love for animals and nature has had a big influence on who I am and the choices I make. As a mother, I want to create a life for my two children that encourages curiosity, compassion, healthy choices, and a genuine appreciation for the world around them.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with an individualized BA degree that brought together Mass Communications, Cultural Studies & Comparative Literature, and Housing Studies. I’ve always been interested in how people, communities, and the environments we live in are connected. That interest eventually led me to horticulture, and in 2019 I earned a Master of Professional Studies in Horticulture from the University of Minnesota.

My career has been shaped by a desire to make thoughtful choices that are better for the environment. During the winter of 2010–2011, I became more involved in my husband’s commercial lawn care business. As I learned more about the industry, I saw an opportunity to create a lawn care service that better reflected our family’s values. That led us to add an organic lawn care division to our business, focused on providing customers with more environmentally responsible options.

Outside of work, I enjoy anything that gets me outdoors and gives me time with my family and friends. I love live music, biking, camping, swimming, and hiking. At the end of the day, I try to live thoughtfully, keep learning, and make choices that reflect what is important to our family. Most of all, I hope to pass those values on to my children and encourage them to be curious, compassionate, and mindful of the choices they make.
